Colin's Blog

My name is Colin and I am taking Mechanical Engineering Technology at NSCC and taking part in the EEBE exchange program has been a great experience. I have learned a lot in the last couple of weeks, about construction methods and passive houses. Before coming on the exchange I had very little knowledge about the processes that went into designing a house. I also learned how my knowledge in mechanical engineering fit into the designing process. I have met a lot of great people from Ireland, the Netherlands and PEI. Tomorrow morning we are going on a tour of a Government building that is LEED certified in Charlottetown. This exchange has been a great experience and I highly recommend taking part if given the opportunity. I have made friends in Ireland and the Netherlands that I know that I could rely on and contact about industry contacts and collaborate with.
