International Tourism Study Tour of Belize

We started our day, after a long night of enjoying chocolate and wine, at the Snack Shack for some chocolate chip pancakes and chocolate fry jacks. After breakfast we took a walk around the town and watched all of the different booths set up for the festival. We took a couple hours for a mid morning siesta and then went out to enjoy the festival in full-swing. There were booths showcasing culture, agriculture, sustainability and crafts.
After the festival, we loaded up the van and headed to Big Falls for some ziplining. Some were nervous, some were fearless, but we were all excited. There were 6 different zips across the Rio Grande river, each increasing in speed, height and intensity. By the end we were all exhilerated and in awe of the beauty. They served us a delicious traditional Belizean lunch and then offered us the unexpected opportunity to go tubing in the river. Some opted to stay dry and some jumped at the opportunity. The run down the lazy river took us two hours and gave us a chance to relax, bond and maneuver through the bendy river as a team.
All-in-all it was a great day that allowed us to take in the Belizean culture, fly over tree tops and relax on a lazy stream.
